2010 : Vinyl Madness

Following the success of the Record Room launch in June this year, plans for a mid-2010 Vinyl Month are starting to form. Expect another huge indoor vinyl market with excellent deals and specials. The highlight, though, will be Medium: Vinyl - a massive exhibition of artwork on vinyl records. Expressions of interest from artists are now open.

Database on the go!

We had some exciting visitors to the Record Room today - three keen and knowledgeable Information Management students who are making it their mission to custom-design a database for us! It seems everybody wins - they get to pursue something interesting for their assignment (cos who doesn't love a bit of vinyl?!) and we get some busy bodies working away to make the Record Room more user-friendly and searchable than ever! Eventually we're envisaging a library-style catalogue that you can search from a laptop on our Record Room couch whilst taking in the surrounds and listening to tunes...awesome.

The dust has settled on our June month of all things vinyl and The Record Room is resembling something close to normal again - we even have the turntables set up again

More records have arrived and many more need to sorted - even more are at last being added to our online sales. We are still selling much of the unsorted stuff for $5 or less and most items in the crates are well under $10 - we'll even do them for less if you buy in bulk.

Hardware Gallery Record Room is now open Tuesday - Saturday, 11am - 5pm. We are pleased to announce that the indoor vinyl market and vinyl inspired art display will now be an annual event at Hardware Gallery. Thankyou to everyone who attended and helped break every attendance record at the gallery and thankyou to artists Jessica Geron and Martay Feeling for their brilliant vinyl inspired artwork that helped make the whole project a great success. Thankyou to Matt Hoare for his enthusiastic DJ skills.
